Atelier Forma is a European architecture studio dedicated to creating buildings that respond to context, light, and the rituals of daily living. We design with restraint and precision — places that feel both grounded and quietly extraordinary.
Atelier Forma is a Lisbon-based architecture practice founded in 2014 by architects Elena Marques and Thomas Weber. We work across residential, cultural, and workplace projects throughout Europe, with a focus on buildings that respond honestly to their environment.
Our practice is built on the belief that good architecture arises from careful observation — of light, of material, of the way people inhabit space. We approach each commission with a quiet rigor, seeking clarity in both form and detail.
Every project begins with a careful reading of its surroundings — the scale of neighboring buildings, the rhythm of the street, the quality of local light and landscape. Our designs grow from this dialogue, never imposed upon it.
We favor materials that age with dignity — concrete, timber, lime plaster, raw metal. Each is chosen for its tactile and atmospheric qualities, and detailed with precision so that the hand of the maker remains legible.
Light is the most fundamental material of architecture. We shape openings, courtyards, and volumes to modulate daylight throughout the day and across the seasons, creating spaces that feel alive and connected to the passage of time.
We are currently accepting new commissions for 2026. If you have a project in mind — a home, a workplace, a place of gathering — we would be glad to hear from you.
